Richmond Running Festival

Are you a runner? Do you like raising money for charities? If so, then get those running shoes ready and register for Richmond Runfest, one of London’s most famous running events. This event consists of several races that the whole family can get involved in and raises money for charities and community groups in the area. To date, the event has raised over £2 million. This year’s featured charity is The British Heart Foundation. However, you can raise money and donate to any charity or group of your choosing.

This year’s races are happening on the 14th and 15th of September. On Saturday the 14th runners can participate in the Kew Gardens 10k inside of Kew Gardens. Other events going on that day with be the Richmond 5k which has a pirate theme, and mile races for the kids. Both the 5k and all kids’ races will take place in Old Deer Park. Everyone who finishes the 5k will receive a medal and a t-shirt from event sponsor Nike. On Sunday the 15th, the Richmond marathon and half marathon will be taking place. Both start at Kew Gardens and end at Old Deer Park. The Nike Family Funrun in Old Deer Park will also be on Sunday.

There will be first aid and water stations placed throughout the courses. Sweep marshals will also be in place to help anyone unable to finish. In 2018, almost 10,000 runners finished their Richmond Running Festival events. To find out more about the events and register, check out the event website.
